Common questions before selling

When do I pay the commission?+

It's usually paid out of the sale proceeds at settlement, when the sale completes. If the property doesn't sell, there's no commission. Marketing costs are handled separately, as agreed upfront.

Auction or private sale?+

It depends on local demand, the type of property and the market. Properties likely to draw competition often do better at auction, while those with a narrower pool of buyers often suit a private sale. We'll give you our recommendation, with reasons, at the appraisal.

How long does it usually take to sell?+

Preparation (1–3 weeks) + marketing campaign (about 4 weeks) + settlement (usually around 6 weeks). Allow roughly 2–3 months from listing to settlement.

Can I sell while tenants are living there?+

Yes. You'll need to follow the NSW notice periods and arrange inspection times, so talking to us early makes planning much easier.

Can you help with capital gains tax (CGT)?+

Tax advice is an accountant's job, so we don't give it directly. If you need one, we can put you in touch with a Korean-speaking accountant.

Just thinking about selling? That's fine.
